Why Isle of Wight wedding suppliers choose the wedding industry? - Part 1

Photography - Silk Wedding Photography

Katie and Marianne wanted to be a part of the wedding industry so we could help you plan your wedding on the Isle of WIght with as much ease as possible, and preferably from the comfort of your sofa with a cup of tea. As two women not yet married it also creates a tool we will find very useful in future!

Helping people who have all different levels of experience planning a massive life event to find the right suppliers for them and their wedding day here is a huge butterflies feeling for us.

We asked some of the Isle of Wight wedding suppliers why they choose to work in the wedding industry. It can be interesting to know why suppliers work to make your day the best it can be, and help you realise the wedding day you are imagining. Sometimes when choosing who you will work with can be a hard decision, and it is essential to choose wisely where you will spend your money.

Going to their directory profile pages can be a good starting point. You can compare suppliers, see a gallery of images, go to their social media profiles, websites and then contact each one directly from the Wight Wedding Days site.

Just click on their business name and you will be taken to their profile page.

It’s such a challenging and exciting environment to work in, every wedding is such an important event in the lives of the people involved, so it’s a genuine thrill and privilege to be there documenting it for them. And beyond that, It doesn’t feel like ‘normal’ work, there’s an energy on the day that feels like you’re part of something special and that you are in some small way contributing to the magic of the occasion.

Abigail Steed – Isle of Wight wedding photographer

I probably answered this already through the amount of waffling I’ve already done in my supplier feature, but really it boils down to this. I love a narrative, a story, and I love photography. What better way to combine the two than having the honour of photographing one of the most important days of two peoples lives?

I love being able to be a part of such a special time in person’s life.  I feel very lucky that I can go to work and love what I am about to do for the day.  The feedback I frequently receive from my brides is that I have a calming presence, and they are content for me to be around on the morning of their wedding, which is a lovely compliment.
