Using light to decorate your wedding venue

The Lodge photoshoot

A stunning building nestled in rolling hills in the beautiful countryside of the Isle of Wight. A wedding venue dressed with twinkling lights and soft flickering candles, while guests and the happy wedding couple wander the beautiful rooms. A wedding day dream for many....

We’ve written before on using lights to decorate your wedding, creating ambience, atmosphere and photo opportunities. We love it, and thought what better way to show you than to bring together some of the Isle of Wight’s fantastic wedding suppliers to show you what they can do to achieve a romantic, flattering and memorable wedding. So that’s what we did with a photo shoot at the jaw dropping exclusive venue that is The Lodge, Bowcombe Estate

When considering a venue, The Lodge was top of the wish list for us (and would be for many planning couples!) as a stunning intimate venue that we knew would look great decorated with candles, lights and beautiful sparkly centrepieces brought along by Inspired Island Events. Not to mention the newly created Bowcombe knot for the chairs! There are so many great wedding suppliers available to you on the Isle of Wight we were spoilt for choice, but we found some suppliers who really stepped up to make the venue look amazing and the wedding couple and their guests gorgeous while showcasing some ideas and inspiration for introducing light to your wedding.

The excitement reached an all time high when it was confirmed that Flowers for you in Ventnor were going to supply the wedding flowers and as the only Isle of Wight florist with exclusive rights to create Vera Wang bouquets and displays (yes, you read right), we are able to feature the amazing global brand's bouquet in the images you are going to drool over in a moment! Can you believe it? Still pinching ourselves.

None of the images below were possible without a great Isle of Wight wedding photographer who could really enhance the effect of the light and how pretty it looked. The man for the job was Chris Cowley, a natural light photographer who jumps at the chance to be creative with his photo shoots and weddings. You only need to look through his Apple Farm shoot to see what we mean.

As a photo shoot about the use of light we enlisted the help and expertise of a local event services company, StageGear Rentals. They offer a very wide range of services for small, medium and large-scale events, and can cater for your every lighting and sound need. They do pyrotechnics too if your looking for something to really wow your guests. Having worked in many Isle of Wight wedding venues we knew they would be able to help enhance the setting of The Lodge and show you what they could do for your wedding day.

There were many suppliers who all contributed to creating a rather large set of fantastic images we had to dwindle to 300 then dwindle again for this blog, it was very hard! But we did it and here is a list of the suppliers we would like to say a massive thank you to for their contribution, hard work and involvement in bringing the photo shoot together. All of the products and services they have supplied for the shoot are available to you for your wedding and we’d love it if you got in touch with them.

Enough from us, here is the list of the suppliers involved and then we think the pictures do a hell of a lot of talking. We hope you enjoy
