Ticketyboo cupcakes – supplier feature

The love you can eat

We’ve been looking forward to posting this supplier feature as we know from first hand experience that Niki of Ticketyboo cupcakes is a lovely lady who makes scrumptious cakes in pretty much any design or style you like.

As you will be able to tell from the masses of mouth watering pictures Niki has on her website there really is something for everyone and for the theme of your wedding day.  From the lead character, your wedding cake, to the favours and gifts for guests and the wedding help.

A lot of what Niki creates is cupcakes, which has been a hot trend this year and really offers versatility. Not only for design and display of them but also with serving to your guests. Choosing to put them at their place settings, under a cake topper as your wedding cake or even handed out upon arrival at your reception as a pick me up after your ceremony and before dinner.

Niki also makes what you might call a ‘traditional’ cake (1-4,5,6 tiers of fruit cake?) except every cake is tailored to your desires, wild or not so wild. Being aware that each person and every couple are different you will be eating a bespoke designed cake on your wedding day, whatever style you choose. You may even choose to adorn your ‘traditional’ cake with cake poppers or a handmade topper designed by both yourself and Niki. Think outside the box, we are sure Niki will enjoy the challenge.

Now, that ‘traditional’ looking cake is already looking pretty unique to you but when you cut your cake you may find a ‘not-so-traditional’ flavour. Take a look at the variety of flavours Ticketyboo offers on their website and don’t be afraid to get in touch and suggest a new one. See those flavours here, we might suggest a strawberry woo woo.

What is great is that there is a 10% off of wedding orders available until the end of November 2012, so get in touch soon to take advantage.

You can find Niki at wedding events (do go over and say hello, she is lovely to talk to) on the Isle of Wight and also as an avid Facebooker who keeps you up to date on all the great new products she can offer you. However, we wanted to bring you a little more from Nikki on what she does and why.

When did Ticketyboo Cupcakes start and why?

Ticketyboo started in 2010 in response to my love of design and of eating cakes! The name is very special to me as it was my little boy Jack who so loved this phrase. Sadly we lost him in 2006 to Cancer and this word still makes me giggle inside every time I hear it.

Why the Isle of Wight?

I have lived on the Island for over 30 years and feel I have an understanding for what makes this beautiful place so unique. Service and reputation are crucial, as is getting to know your clients. Many of my clients have gone on to be good friends – more excuses for a coffee and a gossip.

How has your business grown?

The increase in business over the past 12 months has been incredible. It still amazes me when people come up to me and say “ Hey are you Ticketyboo?“. I have tried to make every order as unique and as special as each client. We focus our advertising on Social Network sites and local fayres. Of course the biggest element in our success is the recommendations from satisfied customers, often we are supplying many different members of the same family and their friends.

Who are the team?

I’m Niki and I design, make and decorate all the cakes. My husband Gordon delivers and of course makes me coffee and washes up.

What are the main wedding services you offer?

A full design and supply of bespoke wedding cakes, each uniquely designed to match colours, themes and personalities of the special couple. I am happy to meet the client as many times as necessary to ensure I meet their needs. I also offer to match cake decorations to dress colours. We also deliver and build the cake on site, as well as offering the hire of stands, flowers and crystals.

Do you offer anything that a client might not know about?

Ticketyboo offer a range of edible gifts for the family and guests at any celebration. These include favours, bouquets and cake pops for children. All available to match and compliment any theme.

What is the future for Ticketyboo cupcakes?

Bigger, better and yummier! I am constantly researching new ideas and flavours. Ticketyboo will never stand still and rest on our success. We are only as good as our last cake – so always strive to improve our products and make Ticketyboo part of everyone’s’ party.

What differentiates you from other Cake suppliers?

Design, flavour and style. No-one works as hard to make every design unique and every client happy. And no-one loves cakes as much as me!!

We don’t mind giving Niki a run for her money on the ‘lover of cake’ award 2012 and wouldn’t mind her cakes being the challenge AND the prize. Head over to the Ticketyboo profile on Wight Wedding Days to see a little more of what is on offer, to ‘Like’ on Facebook and to get in touch.
