Propose on Valentines day at Osborne House

Osborne house have been in touch to let us know that they have an amazing unique opportunity for anyone out there looking to propose to your other half this valentines day. You may even choose to have a walk around the house and restaurant to consider having your wedding reception there too!

Osborne House are one of our listed venues as they are available for your wedding reception. Now you may have heard that they hire out for weddings and that they have a catering team that create menus your guests will be talking about for years to come. Who doesn't want that after their wedding day after all the hard work planning. They have a very helpful man you can contact if you are interested in wedding receptions in their Terrace Restaurant or on the Durbar Lawns. However, if you are still waiting to be asked to marry someone or are looking for the perfect opportunity to ask them that special question....then the details Osborne House have sent us might be just what you are looking for.

With romance in the air this February, English Heritage’s Osborne House has unveiled a proposal for gentlemen who would like to pop the big question to their sweetheart.

They are offering a ‘wedding proposal package’ which includes the unique opportunity of climbing the staircase to the top of the flag tower of Osborne House to enjoy the breathtaking 360 degree view of the Isle of Wight and out to the Solent, before asking the question.

The package is available from only £60 and includes a bottle of champagne and glasses, and a ticket to view the house, estate and beach. Osborne House was the seaside holiday home of Queen Victoria and Prince Albert – a royal couple who were deeply and passionately in love when then they bought the estate and built the house – an Italianate palace with its striking towers. The view from the house and gardens towards the sea is one of the best in Britain and it’s easy to see why the royal couple chose the spot for their retreat.

“The flag tower isn’t normally open to visitors but where better to make a romantic wedding proposal than at the top of such an iconic Isle of Wight property,” says Rob Flower, English Heritage’s General Manager at Osborne. “We are located in such a romantic spot anyway, with views that inspired the royal couple, and we’re a place that hosts many wedding celebrations and parties.”

Proposal packages can be booked by contacting Osborne: telephone: 01983 203055 or email: osborne.house@english-heritage.org.uk

Now all you'd have to do is think about how you would ask that special person to share your life with them, so they'll say yes. The view will help and the champagne too!
