11am – 4pm

WE LOVE WEDDING EVENTS! There. We’ve said it…again. And we will keep saying it. We can’t wait for this weekends event the Gems Bridal Show where you will find us at a stand ready and waiting to hear all about how your wedding plans are going and what is easy to find and what is down right hard to get your crafty wedding planning hands on. It is taking place on the Isle of Wight at Cowes Yacht Haven based in Cowes, a short walk from the red jet and you may want to get there a little earlier to get parked as it is limited at Cowes Yacht Haven but there is some available nearby.

To help you plan who you would like to see and perhaps do a little research on ahead of the event, here is a list of the Wight Wedding Days listed suppliers that will be exhibiting. Why not go to their profiles, read their description and have a peruse through the galleries to see what they offer and what you might like to ask them more about on the day. There is no harm in being prepared. You’re planning your wedding day and you’ve got to find the right supplier for you. And if that isn’t enough we have made a suggestion at the end there of what you might like to ask them.

Just click on their names and you will be taken to their profiles. Any questions just hit the enquiry form button and type away. If you would rather save your questions until Sunday then jot them down and bring them with you.

There will be other Isle of Wight wedding suppliers there, and they may well even be listed in our directory, but these are the ones that have let us know they will be there.

You obviously want to make the most out of visiting the wedding event on Sunday so perhaps consider asking some of the following questions. They aren’t comprehensive and are just a suggestion but some will ensure you get the most out of having the chance to talk to the suppliers face to face.

What exactly do you do and what can you offer me for my wedding day? – ask questions about services or products you have seen them advertise online, they will be glad you have seen their work before.

Can you adapt your product or service to fit my wedding theme or itinerary? – don’t be afraid to ask if they can offer something bespoke or unique to you and your wedding day. Most suppliers can accommodate.

Do you have more than one wedding a day, and if so how do I fit into that day? – Most wedding suppliers who are able to work on multiple weddings in a day e.g. florist, cake maker etc will do, but for reassurance you can ask the question to check how much time will be dedicated to your wedding.

How much will it cost and are you offering any discounts or deals as part of this show?  - some suppliers will have a special promotion only for those couples attending the show. It doesn’t hurt to ask, but you will find those who have one will tell you.

Are you free on my wedding date? – pretty essential, especially for those suppliers who do only work one wedding a day e.g. venue (obvious), photographer, wedding entertainment. Get this question out the way and you will know if you can even consider using this supplier.

If you are free and I want to book you, what do I need to do to secure a booking with you?  - Most suppliers will require a deposit and will be able to tell you what the payment terms are. For sensible budgeting and planning you should note when deposits should be paid, what the conditions are and when final payment will need to be made.

How will you confirm my booking and receipt of any deposit I might pay? – All bookings should be confirmed to you either in writing or by email and a receipt for deposits or payment should be given. Anything under £100 paid by debit card is insured and anything over that should be paid by credit card to ensure you are covered by that cards insurance. Otherwise, paying through paypal offers insurance too.

Is the booking set in stone, if I need to change something are you flexible? You may find your number increase or decrease at any time, or you need to adjust your order. Find out where you stand on that just so you know.

Is there any cancellation policy, for any worst-case scenario? We don’t want to think about it but you may need to cancel a product or service for any number of reasons so it doesn’t hurt to ask if there is one and if you will lose all or part of your deposit.
