You hear it all the time, whether it is from one of the many people in your life offering you their advice on ‘how to plan your wedding’ or a blog (ahem), a magazine or fellow wedding planning bride-to-be ~ choose your wedding photographer wisely because it is a massively important part of your day and remembering it afterwards. However, so are the live comments, moments, speeches, dance moves and bleary eyes that happen at everyone’s wedding.  Have you thought about capturing those?

It seems the days are gone when we were all well and truly ‘into’ having some handheld cameras at a wedding in the hope we would capture something to be sent off to a particularly popular and funny programme that showed all those funny (and sometimes painful) moments that we catch on candid camera. We aren’t convinced those days are over as we still love to see the speeches, dance moves and heartfelt messages and goings on from a wedding. Plus…..’THAT’ programme is still on TV!

Gone are the days when we had to rely on the guests who didn’t mind relinquishing dancing duties or joining in as much to operate a video camera (or learn how to on the job!) capturing the live moments of the day. We now have professional wedding videographers at great rates offering creative services to record your guests live on your wedding day, even on this little Island.

Not to take away from the importance of the right wedding photographer for you both, who will provide great images of your day to remember and display afterwards, but it doesn’t quite record and replay the speeches. Wedding videography does seem to be the first thing couples feel they can sacrifice to keep to budget but we do suggest you take a moment to re-consider as there are a lot of great benefits.

Much like your photographer, videographers will be with you and your guests all day but will capture movements, sound and visuals live and in context to the situations they happen. Hearing how everyone gasped and ahhhhh-ed as you entered the church or seeing your reserved Auntie Genevieve get up and dance Gangham Style would be a picture and a video you would want to see again. If your Husband-to-be is not the ‘speech’ type but pulls it out the bag on the day  with laughter and tears throughout the room, you might just want to re-live that again in the future or show guests that couldn’t be there. So think again on whether you can afford not to have a videographer when you think of the moments you might not be able to hear or watch again, or missed in the first place.

An Island Videographer available for your day is Adam Pearson Video Services, or APV Services for short. A husband and wife team who offer all day, and sometimes night coverage of as many of the moments that 2-3 cameras can. Now 2-3 cameras sounds like a small TV drama crew but they use small compact HD cameras to make their presence as un-intrusive as possible and ensure that with their editing and post-production skills you will receive a high quality video.  An excellent additional extra that happens as a result of near constant filing of your day is a selection of excellent still shots. APV Services offer this as a free extra that might capture some moments even your photographer didn’t.

Here is a little more from Adam of APV Services on who they are and what they can do for you.

When did Adams Professional Video Services start and why?

In 2007. I got made redundant, as did the media wing of the company I was working for so I got the camera equipment as part of my redundancy and it seemed natural to start videoing such a happy occasion in life.

Why did you decide to base your business on the Isle of Wight?

I live here and my wife and I enjoy the pace of living so wont be moving to the mainland anytime soon.

How has APV Services grown since you started?

Gradually Since 2007 business has grown gradually, and we have gone from getting our name out there and videoing a few wedding days to having provided videography for 50 couples.

Who are the team behind APV Services?

Myself Adam Pearson and my wife Deborah. perhaps what you both do and why there are 2 of you. E.g. We work well together and both attend your wedding to operate cameras to cover as much as possible.

What are the main wedding services you offer couples?

Videography of your wedding day and evening? with full video production using 2 - 3 cameras. We are also able to edit amateur footage if you or your guests have captured moments you would like professionally edited.

Do you offer anything that a client might not know about and may be of interest?

A free disk of still photographs our cameras take while they film. We stay right up to the first dance and sometime beyond at no extra charge.

What is the future for APV Services, any new developments for the future?

We can offer camera hire while we edit the footage into a wedding video with music and titles, if couples do not want the full professional videography service.

Hopefully this has made you think on the possibility of having a videographer for your wedding day and the additional benefits you will gain. A creative and fun option for capturing your wedding day to watch in HD over and over again. All the images above are still images captured during filming on Isle of WIght wedding days.
